Michael Jolly CBE

As special advisor to Britton McGrath Associates, Michael brings over 20 years international experience in tourism and the development of visitor destinations.

He was the Chairman and CEO of the Tussauds Group from 1994-2001 running Europe’s largest operator and developer of large scale visitor attractions. In the late 1990’s Michael was also directly involved in assessing many of the new visitor attractions requesting funding from the Millennium Commission.

In 2002 he was appointed as a Commissioner for English Heritage. In this role he is involved in historic visitor destinations as well as wider strategies such as the planned expansion of London in the Thames Gateway.

Michael has been Chairman, Star Parks S.A. Belgium a group of 7 theme parks located across Europe since 2003.  In 2006 Michael became the non-Executive Chairman of Cinque Ports Holiday Parks.

His breadth of knowledge and insight in finding the successful formula of developing appropriate leisure destinations within wider visitor developments is particularly relevant to much of our work. He is an active participant in the tourism industry nationally and internationally.  Chairman of CBI’s Tourism Group 1996-2000, he has also acted as advisor to Government on Tourism Policies.
