Nancy McGrath

Nancy’s background is as a classically trained marketer.  She graduated in International Business and German and worked as a Marketing Manager for Procter & Gamble in their cosmetics and fragrances division.  Nancy joined The Tussauds Group in 1994 as Head of Marketing for Madame Tussauds in London.  In 1999 she was promoted to Director of Marketing for City Centre Attractions with a remit encompassing the Madame Tussauds attractions in the UK and abroad and the British Airways London Eye.  Key achievements during her tenure include: re-positioning Madame Tussauds London to the domestic market; growing the London business to take No.1 spot as the top attraction in London; the development of the Madame Tussauds international brand and the launch of the British Airways London Eye, one of the most innovative and successful introductions to the attractions market in the UK in recent years.

Since co-founding Britton McGrath Associates in 2001, Nancy has led a wide range of projects in the not-for-profit as well as the commercial sector.  Recent examples include:

  • The development of the Business Case for a new visitor facilities building at Battle Abbey for English Heritage approved and commended by DCMS.
  • A strategic analysis of the operational business model for Whipsnade Wild Animal Park
  • Development of the concept and financial feasibility of the proposed viewing galleries in the Shard the mixed use tower designed by Renzo Piano
  • Development of the commercial business case and preparation of the full Business Plan for the £12m regeneration of Chiswick House & Gardens which was recently awarded a Stage One pass for a £7.9m grant by Heritage Lottery Fund
  • A study looking at ways to connect the currently fragmented elements of the Dover Tourism offer in order to support Dover’s development as a tourist destination
  • The completion of an analysis of the business projections for an indoor theme park in Istanbul as part of the due diligence process.
