Britton McGrath Associates wins competitive tender to work for Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Limited on a proposed new visitor attraction.
Following a four-way competitive tender, Britton McGrath Associates have been appointed by Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Limited to undertake a feasibility study and develop an outline business plan for Roman Maryport, a proposed new heritage visitor attraction at the west end of the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage site.
Britton McGrath Associates will act as lead consultants for business planning, working with BDRC who are undertaking primary consumer research and Nevin Associates who are responsible for the economic impact analysis. They will work alongside interpretive designers, Event Communications Limited, architects, Mosedale Gillatt, as well as the HWHL team and a number of other agencies.
Roman Maryport comprises a roman fort, vicus (civilian settlement) and existing museum, which houses an internationally significant collection of official Roman army religious dedication including an outstanding collection of Roman Altars.
Roman Maryport offers the opportunity to develop an exemplar heritage visitor attraction with transformational impact on the local and world heritage site visitor economy. |
